Job information : He/she should work as a principal investigator responsible for research in the field of energy science based on physics and engineering

Qualification requirements : He/she must hold the doctoral degree. We are looking forward to application from those who have clear vision and conduct research to pioneer new fields in energy science. He/she should
work in constructive stance with the sufficient flexibility to conduct research in collaboration with researchers from home and abroad.

Starting date : Preferably as early as possible after the selection.

Employment status : 10 years. The contract may be renewed on the basis of evaluation.

Duty hour and Holiday : Discretionary Labor System for Professional Work. (7 h 45 min/day, 38 h 45 min/week.)
Holidays: Saturday, Sunday, National holidays, University Founding Day, Summer Holidays
(Aug. 13 to 15) and Year-end and New Year holidays (Dec. 29 to Jan. 3)

Salary : To be determined in accordance with Kyoto University regulations

Allowance : To be determined in accordance with Kyoto University regulations

Social insurance : MEXT Mutual Association of Health Insurance, employee pension insurance, employment insurance, and industrial accident compensation insurance

Probation period : 6 months

Application method :
Application forms from (1) to (5) should be prepared either in English or Japanese by separated pages of A4 size paper. Applicant’s name should be cited on upper right header on each page.
(1) Curriculum Vitae (including the description of possible date to start job. In the case of Japanese, regular commercially available format can be used.)
(2) -List of publications: Categorize as original papers, conference proceedings, reviews, patents and etc. Classify peer-reviewed papers. Important publications up to 10 can be attached.
-List of research grants; name, amount, sponsor, period and applicants role.
-List of social activities; memberships and roles in academic societies and social out-reach activities must be reported, if any.
(3) Summary of the previous activities in research (approx. two pages of A4 size paper) categorized by theme
(4) Research plans (approx. one page of A4 size paper)
(5) Name of up to two persons who can provide their opinions about the applicant, or Letter of recommendation.

Selection procedures : Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. Interviews may be conducted after reviewing applications. Applicants who are based overseas will be asked to participate in a Skype interview.
