概要:The roles of the electric and the magnetic fields are involved with acceleration and confinement of plasma particles in cross-field devices such as a magnetron sputtering system, Hall thrusters, and Penning trap discharges. The magnetic and the electric fields are crossing in a perpendicular direction to form the devices confine electrons but utilizing ions by escaping the system easily.
An electron beam source of vacuum electronics is also a kind of cross-field device although it contains only non-neutral annular electron beams.
In this talk, the investigations of the anomalous transport and turbulence phenomena caused by the ExB drift of electrons and ions are presented based on analytic theory and particle-in-cell simulation.
A non-modal approach to investigate the plasma instabilities driven by sheared current is presented in addition to the two-dimensional and three-dimensional numerical simulations which includes electron-neutral collisions and ionization.
