Rights and Terms of Use for Data

The terms and conditions for distributing and using “Heliotron J data” products are summarized below.

“Heliotron J data” is the data obtained from the Heliotron J experiment and published on the repository site. These guidelines govern the production and distribution of scientific data sets by the Heliotron J project and the use of the Heliotron J data by the science community and the general public. Please note that these guidelines are subject to change without notice.

The Heliotron J project bord (hereafter referred to as board) will produce scientifically valuable data products and provide them to the Heliotron J Experiment Data Repository within one year of the completion of the experiment. Heliotron J experiment data products are open to all scientists and the public (Users). No proprietary periods are associated with any Heliotron J Experiment Data Repository data products.

The board consists of the home team of the Institute of Advanced Energy and the relevant researchers outside the institute. The board will organize the Heliotron J user forum for the user group and hold weekly Heliotron J user group meeting (JOB).

Users should not use the data products for scientific analysis or publication without the express consent of the Heliotron J project bord. Users who wish to publish or present results derived from Heliotron J data should report the contents to the bord in advance. The contents should be presented in the JOB or relevant meetings.

Users should respond in good faith to any doubts that may arise by the board through the JOB.

Users are encouraged to involve appropriate relevant board members directly in the analysis and should heed the board members' cautions regarding interpretation and limitations of the data. All important caveats should be included in the paper. Data and shot numbers should also be clearly stated.

Users should acknowledge the sources of data used in all publications, presentations, and reports. Appropriate acknowledgment should be given to institutions, personnel, and funding agencies. In accordance with the guidelines and/or recommendations from the journals, the following statements should be included in the Data Availability Statement or the Acknowledgment section, "The data supporting the findings of this study are available in the Heliotron J experiment data repository at "https://www.iae.kyoto-u.ac.jp/heliotronj/expdata.html”.

If the reviewers request revisions regarding the data itself or analyses related to the data, the revised parts should be presented in the JOB or relevant meetings.

If the student is the responsible author, the supervisor should confirm that the above rights and terms have been followed.
