Admissions
The Institute of Advanced Energy (IAE) is an affiliate of Kyoto University, and does not have an admission policy of its own. Each laboratory at IAE offers courses in conjunction with the Graduate School of Energy Science. Students accepted into the Graduate School of Energy Science may opt to join an IAE laboratory for their graduate research.
Additionally, some IAE faculty members have ties with faculties and graduate schools at Kyoto University other than the Graduate School of Energy Science. Students may also join an IAE laboratory by being admitted into those faculties or graduate schools.
International students and those interested in the doctoral program for working professionals may apply through the Graduate School of Energy Science.
Information about the research of each laboratory can be found on our website and in our periodicals. In addition, each department of the Graduate School of Energy Science hosts an information session to introduce its laboratories. Moreover, IAE hosts its own information session in the form of annual public lectures, which include a session about admission into the Graduate School of Energy Science. Those who are interested in the education and research at IAE are strongly encouraged to attend.
Information about the members and research fields of each laboratory can be found here.
